Fix a problem1. Getting started
QuickExtract is a Chrome extension with a dashboard. Extraction from every source is free, and so is every company email it finds. You only need credits for verified person emails.
Install the extension
- Open the QuickExtract listing in the Chrome Web Store with the Add to Chrome, free button on this site.
- Click Add to Chrome and confirm the prompt.
- Pin QuickExtract to your toolbar from Chrome's puzzle-piece menu so the icon is always one click away.
Open the dashboard
Click the QuickExtract icon in the Chrome toolbar. The dashboard opens in its own tab. A QuickExtract entry is also added to Chrome's right-click menu, for actions on the page you're looking at.
Create your account
- On the welcome screen, choose Sign up.
- Enter your full name, your email address and a password of at least 8 characters, then confirm the password.
- Click Create account. You're signed in and taken to the Overview page.
No card is needed to start.
Choose Log in, enter your email and password, and click Log in. Your leads, groups, images and settings are stored with your account, so they appear on any Chrome where you sign in.
Take the guided tours
Each source page (Sales Navigator, Google Maps, Product Hunt and Websites) has a step-by-step guided tour that points at each control in turn. Press Replay tour on that page to watch it again at any time. The How it works page in the dashboard menu summarizes every feature and where to find it.
2. The dashboard
The menu on the left of the dashboard has these pages:
- Overview: totals for prospects, leads with an email, person emails and sources, plus shortcuts to each source.
- Sales Navigator, Google Maps, Product Hunt and Websites & directories: one page per source, each with its own form, progress display and table of results.
- How it works: a short explanation of every feature.
- Profile: your account details, password and log out.
You can switch between a light and a dark theme with the theme button. When you run a right-click action, the QuickExtract toolbar icon shows a badge while it's working, when it's done, or if there was an error.
4. Google Maps
Collect local businesses from Google Maps by typing what you want in plain English. The run happens in a background tab.
Step by step
- Open Google Maps in the dashboard.
- Type your searches, one per line, for example
find 100 plumber emails in Austinordentists in Denver. - Choose how many businesses to collect per line, from 1 to 120. The default is 40.
- Under Save these businesses to, let QuickExtract name a group for each search automatically, or choose or create a custom group.
- Click Start background run, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac).
What happens during a run
- A background tab opens Google Maps and scrolls the results for each line in turn.
- To fill in a missing website, phone or address, it opens up to 30 place pages.
- Each business's website is then crawled for a company email.
- If Google shows a cookie consent or sign-in page in that tab, the run waits up to about 90 seconds for you to accept it.
- The run keeps going if you close the dashboard. Results are saved to your account as they arrive.
- Click Stop to end a run early. Businesses already collected stay in your table.
Fields you get
Business name, website, domain, phone, address, category, rating, Google Maps link, place photo and company email.
Right-click on Google Maps
Already looking at Maps results? Right-click the page, open QuickExtract and choose Scan Google Maps / Search results to collect what's on screen, or Load more Maps results to load further results.
Tip: put several cities or trades on separate lines to cover a whole region in one run. See also the Google Maps scraper page.
5. Product Hunt
Collect the launches from Product Hunt's daily leaderboards for a single day or a date range, with the people behind each product.
Step by step
- Open Product Hunt in the dashboard.
- Choose From and To dates, up to 62 days in one run, or use a preset: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days or Last 30 days.
- Set Max per day from 1 to 200 launches. The default is 40.
- Open Additional settings if you want to change the options below.
- Choose a group under Save these launches to and click Start Product Hunt run.
Additional settings
- Deep scan every launch page (off by default): loads each launch page in the pinned tab. It's slower, so use it only when a normal run comes back thin.
- Read the maker's and hunter's profiles (on): adds full name, headline, LinkedIn, personal site and any email they made public.
- Show the tab briefly if a day stalls (on): Product Hunt loads more launches only while its tab is on screen, so if a day stops loading, the pinned tab is shown for a few seconds and then your tab comes back.
- Crawl each website for emails (on): searches each product's homepage, then its contact and about pages.
The run uses one pinned Product Hunt tab and keeps going if you close the dashboard.
Fields you get
Product name, tagline, description, topics, upvotes, comments, pricing, launch date, website and thumbnail; every maker, with the first maker used as the contact; maker profile, headline, LinkedIn, X and public email; hunter name, profile, LinkedIn and headline; and the product's X, LinkedIn and GitHub links.
Product Hunt doesn't publish makers' private emails. The email comes from the product's own website first, then from anything the maker made public on their profile. Launches with no email found are still kept, with their website, makers and links.
Right-click on Product Hunt
On a leaderboard, topic page or single product, right-click and choose QuickExtract → Scan this Product Hunt page. See also the Product Hunt scraper page.
6. Websites, right-click and autosave
Crawl a list of websites
- Open Websites & directories in the dashboard.
- Paste website URLs, one per line, up to 1,000.
- Choose a group under Save these sites to.
- Turn on Go slow if the sites you're crawling block fast visits.
- Click Find emails on these sites, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac).
- Normally, 3 sites are visited at a time.
- With Go slow, 1 site is visited at a time, about 5 seconds apart.
- Each page has a 10-second time limit.
- You get one row per domain. New emails found later on the same domain are merged into that row.
Right-click any page
Right-click a page and open QuickExtract:
- Extract emails from this page collects the emails on the page you're looking at.
- Crawl this page's links for emails visits the outside links on the page, such as the sites in a directory or list, and searches each for emails.
Results land in the Websites table. Watch the toolbar badge to see when the action is working, done or has hit an error.
Autosave emails while you browse
Switch on Autosave emails while I browse on the Websites page. Every page you open is then scanned and its emails are collected automatically. LinkedIn is always excluded. Switch it off when you don't need it. See also the website email finder page.
7. Finding company emails
Company emails, such as contact@, hello@, info@ and sales@, and any email that is publicly available are always free. QuickExtract searches for them automatically after most runs. You can also select rows and choose Find company email from the Menus button; a progress bar shows done, pending and emails found, with a Cancel button.
Where it looks
The company's homepage, then up to 8 more pages such as contact, about, team, company, support, help, impressum, kontakt, privacy and legal.
Hidden addresses
It decodes emails written as name [at] site [dot] com or (at), HTML-encoded @ signs such as @, and mailto links.
How it picks the best email
- Emails on the company's own domain come first.
- Personal addresses rank above shared inboxes.
- If a person's name is known, matching patterns such as
jane.doe@orjdoe@win. - Founders, CEO and hello inboxes rank above legal, privacy and abuse.
What it drops
Image file names that look like emails, no-reply addresses, placeholders such as example addresses, and anything on your excluded domains list. See also the company email finder page.
8. Verified person emails
A verified person email is the work email of a specific named person at a company, such as [email protected]. These are paid with credits.
- Price: one-time packs from $29 for 2,000 credits (about 1.45 cents each) to $499 for 100,000 (about 0.5 cents each).
- Charging: 1 credit for each valid email found. If no valid email is found, you aren't charged.
- Included: finding and verifying use the same single credit.
- No subscription: buy packs when you need them. Credits are only needed for person emails.
How to find them
On a source page that offers it, select the rows you want and choose Find person email from the Menus button. Found emails appear in the Person email column and count toward the Person emails total.
Three-pass verification
- Format and domain: the address is well formed and its domain can receive email.
- Mailbox: the mail server confirms the mailbox exists.
- Catch-all: domains that accept every address get a dedicated catch-all verification.
Emails that fail any pass are dropped, so you only receive and pay for valid ones. See Email finder, Email verifier and the price calculator.
9. The email verifier
You can also verify an email list you already have, using the same credits and the same three passes: format and domain, mailbox, and catch-all. Invalid addresses are dropped so your list keeps only valid emails. See verification pricing for details.
10. Groups, tabs and filters
Groups
- Each run is saved into a group that is named automatically, or into a custom group you choose.
- Create custom groups per source page from the start form or with Menus → New group.
- Select rows and use Add to group or Remove from group to organize them.
- Open Manage custom groups to rename or delete a custom group. Deleting or renaming a group keeps its rows.
- Source groups are automatic per page and can't be renamed or deleted.
Tabs, search and sort
- Each table has three tabs: All, With email and No email.
- Search the table, and filter by group (and by company on Sales Navigator) under All filters.
- Sort by Newest or Name, plus Company on Sales Navigator and Domain on Websites.
Selecting and clearing
- The table loads 50 rows at a time as you scroll.
- Select-all covers every row that matches your current filters, not only the rows on screen.
- Menus → Clear removes rows from that page's table.
11. Excluded domains
Every source page has an Excluded domains box, one domain per line. Emails on these domains are skipped when collecting and hidden from the table.
The default list is: gmail.com, googlemail.com, google.com, x.com, twitter.com, microsoft.com, linkedin.com, facebook.com, fb.com, youtube.com, instagram.com, apple.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, outlook.com, wixpress.com and sentry.io.
Remove a domain from the list if you want to keep those emails, for example Gmail addresses used by small local businesses.
12. First names
QuickExtract works out a first name from each email address, so [email protected] gives “Jane”. Shared inboxes such as info@ get no first name. Use a fallback in your templates, such as {{firstName|there}}, which becomes “there” when no name is known. On Product Hunt, the first maker's name is used as the contact. On Sales Navigator, names come from the lead's profile.
13. Exporting
Select rows, or select every match for your filters, then open Menus:
- Export CSV: 37 columns, saved as UTF-8 with a byte order mark, so Excel shows accents and non-English names correctly.
- Export TXT: one email per line.
- Copy emails: puts the emails on your clipboard.
File names
Files are named for what's inside, for example linkedin-500-prospects.csv, google-maps-100-businesses.csv, producthunt-<dates>-<n>-launches.csv and websites-240-sites.csv.
Sales Navigator columns
For Sales Navigator rows, the CSV puts the company in Business, the job title in Category and the profile link in Place URL. There is no separate Last name column.
Importing into other tools
HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, spreadsheets and sending tools can import the CSV. Step-by-step export guides are in Guides, for example Sales Navigator to HubSpot, Google Maps to Excel and Product Hunt to Google Sheets.
14. Quickprosp integration
Quickprosp is our cold email platform, and it's built into QuickExtract.
- Copy your API key from your Quickprosp account.
- Paste it into QuickExtract's settings to connect. Your organisation and default list are remembered.
- Select leads in any table. Leads with an email are sent, and leads you've already sent are skipped.
- Save them to Quickprosp lists (one list per extraction run), add a lead to a campaign, or enroll leads in an automation, starting from step 1.
You only need a Quickprosp account for this integration. See Integrations.
15. Account and profile
- Change your name: open Profile, edit Full name and click Save changes. Your email address can't be changed.
- Change your password: on Profile, enter your current password and the new one twice (at least 8 characters), then click Update password.
- Sessions: you stay signed in for 7 days, then you're asked to log in again.
- Log out: use Log out on the Profile page.
- Security: passwords are stored only as a one-way hash, and each account's data is kept separate.
- Where your data lives: leads, groups, images (up to 2 MB each) and settings are stored with your account on our servers.
- Delete your account: email us from the address on your account. See the Privacy Policy.
16. Troubleshooting
“Make sure you are logged in to Sales Navigator”
LinkedIn rejected the request, usually because you aren't signed in to Sales Navigator in this Chrome browser, or your session expired. Open Sales Navigator in a tab, sign in, check that your search loads, then press Scrape again. Make sure you pasted a Sales Navigator people search URL.
Google Maps is waiting for results
Google sometimes shows a cookie consent, sign-in or captcha page in the Maps tab that QuickExtract opened. Switch to that tab and accept or complete it. The run waits up to about 90 seconds, then carries on.
Websites block fast visits
Some sites block several quick visits in a row. Turn on Go slow on the Websites page, so sites are visited one at a time, about 5 seconds apart, and run the list again.
A run has stalled
If a Google Maps or Product Hunt run stops making progress, press the Start button again. While a run is active it reads Restart run (and says “it stopped responding” if nothing has happened for a few minutes). Starting again cancels the stuck run and begins a fresh one. Rows already collected are kept.
A Product Hunt day came up short
Keep Show the tab briefly if a day stalls switched on, and leave the pinned Product Hunt tab open. If results are still thin, try Deep scan every launch page.
No email was found
Common reasons:
- The business has no website, or the website didn't load in time (each page has a 10-second limit).
- The site shows a contact form instead of an email address, or hides its email in an image.
- The site blocked the visit. Try Go slow.
- The only emails found were no-reply or placeholder addresses, which are dropped.
- For person emails, no valid address passed all three verification passes. You aren't charged for these.
Rows without an email are kept under the No email tab, with their website, phone or profile links, so you can reach them another way.
Emails seem to be missing
Emails on your excluded domains are skipped and hidden. If you expected a Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo address, remove that domain from the list for that page. Also check that the All tab is selected and that no group or search filter is hiding rows.
I can't log in
Check the email address and password, including capital letters. Sessions last 7 days, so you'll be asked to log in again after that. If you still can't get in, email support.
